GB1.5 - Skill Builder Pilot

Building on what students learned in GB1, this five-week course focuses on improving basic techniques that are critical to every glassblower’s development. Led by an experienced glassblowing instructor, participants will dive deeper into form with a focus on repetition, consistency and anticipating their next move. Each week will focus on the creation of a standard shape, from cups to bowls to vases. The final class will be “Practice Time” where students are encouraged to design their piece, make a plan, present their idea to the group and finally create their vision.

GB 1.5 is ideal for students who want to build on basic skills before undertaking more advanced courses. It’s also perfect for any student who wants a refresher on the fundamentals, whether it’s because they have been out of the hot shop for awhile or because they simply want a stronger foundation to build up their glassblowing skills.
