Become a Member
Membership in the Ottawa Glassblowing Co-op is open to anyone (age 16+) who wishes to apply. Membership is required to use the facilities at the OGC, unless you are enrolled in classes or attending Practice Time.
Individuals of any skill level may apply for membership, from beginner to professional glass artists.
We welcome all people who are interested in pursuing an interest in the glass arts. We are an inclusive community that welcomes and values a diversity of people in its membership.
However, working in a co-operative environment is not for everyone. People who thrive in a co-operative community will demonstrate reliability, communicate constructively, actively participate, exhibit flexibility, work and be a problem solver, and treat others in a respectful manner. We encourage member participation in any of our member driven committees, and welcome new enthusiasm for our community.
How to become a member:
- Submit an Application and pay a non-refundable $50 + HST application processing fee.
- Your application is reviewed by the Board of Directors. Once successful, you will be asked to pay a Member Loan of $250. This loan is refundable when you choose to leave the co-op. As a co-op, all members are owners. Each member is entitled to one vote at the general meetings, including electing the Board of Directors.
- There is also a $50 + HST Annual Membership fee, due 01 Jan of each year.
