Guest Instructor - Dan Alexander
OGC is welcoming artist in residence Dan Alexander, a renowned glass artist who specializes in creating optical illusions in his large-scale pieces using intricate colour designs with advanced bar and murrine techniques.
Dan’s resume is packed with impressive experience, including studying with Maestro Davide Salvadore in Murano, Italy, and being a lead gaffer at the Corning Museum of Glass, just to name a couple. Nowadays, through his non-profit studio Art, Education, Gathering Inc. (St. Petersburg, Florida), Dan is no stranger to strengthening the community through artist education and outreach.
During his time at OGC, Dan will be offering two fully hands-on workshops. Each workshop will span 3 days, with opportunities for members to learn about the unique techniques that Dan uses to create his masterpieces. In addition to the workshops, there will also be opportunities to observe Dan while he creates pieces of his own during the week while he is visiting.
